Luminari opened in 2014 with three rooms and one esthetician. We are now nine therapists across six rooms, and we have turned down every offer to franchise.
Anete got tired of rushing people
After a decade in dermatology clinics in Tallinn and Kyoto, Anete Ozola noticed a pattern: the better clinics were getting faster, and the results were getting worse. Appointments were down to 30 minutes. Nobody was listening to a skin that was trying to tell them something.
So she rented two rooms above a bookshop on Brivibas iela and opened Luminari with one rule - no treatment under an hour. In 2014 that was commercially difficult. It is still commercially difficult. It is also the only reason people keep coming back.

Four things we will not compromise
Nothing under an hour
If a treatment can be done in 30 minutes, it is not worth doing. The Express Glow at 45 minutes exists because it is genuinely useful, not because it fits in a lunch break.
We know the source
If we cannot tell you where an ingredient came from, it does not go on your skin. We buy from small Baltic botanical houses and European ateliers we have visited.
No package pressure
Nobody at the desk is on commission. We have had memberships on offer for years and we will still tell you when paying per visit is cheaper.
Four training days a year
Every therapist, four times a year, on the clock. It is the line item we protect in the budget and the one we will never cut.
What is on the shelf
Our retail shelf is deliberately short. Around forty products, mostly from small houses: a Latvian sea-bath line, a Lithuanian botanical atelier, and two European skincare makers whose sourcing we have audited in person.
If a product is on the shelf, a therapist here uses it. That is the only filter we apply. It means you can buy something at reception and it will not be a random.
Members get 10 to 25% off depending on plan, and there is no obligation to buy anything at all after a treatment.
